Robert Zipser has practiced entertainment law for over 25 years. He has worked
for major studios and top production companies including MGM Pictures and Carolco
Pictures Inc. as well as top U.S. law firms including Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom and Stroock Stroock & Lavan. In addition, he has worked as a consultant for such leading entertainment companies as Playboy Entertainment Group and has served on the board of directors of motion picture production companies. He represents producers, writers, directors, actors, production companies (in the U.S. and Europe), and other professionals in the motion picture and television industries, and record labels and artists in the music industry. His practice also includes all areas of corporate transactional work for companies and individuals and business entity formation. He has appeared as a guest on radio and has published in the area of motion picture contracts. He has also served as a judge of the National Entertainment Law Moot Court Competition at Pepperdine University School of Law. He is a graduate of University of California, Hastings College of the Law (J.D. 1985) where he was an editor of the law review. He received an M.A. in English from UCLA in 1981 and a B.A., magna cum laude, in English from UCLA in 1977.
Daniel Zipser, Esq. (Consultant):
Dan Zipser graduated from UCLA in 1962 with a degree in accounting and a J.D. in 1965 from UCLA Law School. In law school, he was awarded the American Jurisprudence Awards in Creditor's Rights and Secured Transactions He practiced corporate securities law as a member of the law firm Weinberg, Zipser, Arbiter, Heller, & Quinn representing numerous public and private corporations and handling many mergers and acquisitions. He also served as a director and officer for various corporations, both public and private. During the past 20 years, he has also consulted for several companies, primarily in the start-up and turnaround phase, including structuring of corporate transactions.
